Static vs Dynamic QR Codes: What Is the Difference?
Compare direct encoding, editable short links, visit statistics and service dependencies to choose the right QR code.
Static codes store the content directly
A static URL code stores its destination in the image and does not need this website to redirect it. If the content changes, regenerate and replace the image. Text, Wi-Fi and contact cards are also suitable for direct encoding.
Dynamic codes use a fixed short link
A dynamic code stores a tuihuo.cc/r/ address. The server redirects it to the current destination, so the printed image stays unchanged when the target changes. The domain, server and database must remain available.
Visits are requests, not people
The service counts valid short-link GET requests by Beijing date, excluding HEAD and recognized bots. Repeat scans and previews may count. These are not unique visitors.
Which should you choose?
Use static codes for fixed content. Use dynamic links for long-lived printed materials whose destination may change. Sign in to manage codes across devices; legacy workspaces can be linked to an account.
